This website is brought to you by the creators of StockScriber. We take the security and privacy of our website users very seriously. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy (‘the Policy’) carefully as it contains important information about how we will use your personal data.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 (‘DPA’) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’), StockScriber.com (us) is the ‘data controller’, which means that we are responsible for, and control the processing of, your personal data.

Personal data we may collect about you

We will obtain personal data about you (such as your name, address, email address, country of residence, date of birth, payment details) whenever you complete an online form by which you consent to us holding that personal data for the purpose specified on that form.
For example, we will obtain your personal data when you create an account, join as a reseller, join as an affiliate or subscribe to exclusive content provided on this website.
We may monitor your use of this website through the use of cookies and similar tracking devices. For example, we may monitor how many times you visit this website, which pages you go to, traffic data, location data, and the originating domain name of your internet service provider. This information helps us to build a profile of our users. Some of this data will be aggregated or statistical, which means that we will not be able to identify you individually. Information You Provide Through Your Account

This is information that you provide to us through text fields, such as your name, payment information, and benefits. The information we collect differs depending on if you make an account, become a patron, or become a creator.

You may also sign up using a Facebook or Google account. We will ask permission to access basic information from your Facebook or Google account, such as your name, email, and profile picture. You can choose to stop sharing that information with us at any time by going to Facebook or Google to remove Patreon’s access to that account and your ability to log in.

You also have the option to add more information to your public profile, such as a location, social media links, and an about section, which we store along with any comments or messages you submit on Patreon.

StockScribers

A StockScriber is someone who joins StockScriber’s membership platform to subscribe to a creator’s membership content or any newsletter subscription from this website. As a StockScriber you must provide your payment information to our payment processors. You can see the privacy policy for these payment processors and checkouts on their websites [(e.g. Paypal)]. At this time, StockScriber does not receive your full card number. Payment processors provide us with a token that represents your account, your card’s expiration date, card type, and the last four digits of your card number. If you are required to provide your name and email address to the payment processor, then they also provide us with that information.

We collect and process information about the creators you subscribe to, the level at which you support them. This includes what benefits or services you receive, how often you support them with payment, and your contact information (including your name and email address).

  • Username
  • Password
  • City/State and Country of Residence
  • Bank Account Information for Payouts

Creators

A creator is someone who creates and provides content for their StockScribers through our StockScriber membership platform. To become a creator, you must create a page that describes what you are creating and any benefits you are offering. To receive payouts you have to create an account with one of our payment partners (e.g. PayPal). We may also require your bank account information to process payouts. You must also provide us with additional information for tax purposes. Depending on your location you may have to fill out a form with some combination of your:

  • Legal First and Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Home Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number
  • City/State and Country of Residence
  • Country of Citizenship
  • Taxpayer Identification Number
  • Criminal history information (must have no previous convictions related to fraud, theft, laundering etc.)
  • Your Nonprofit Registration Number, if they are a nonprofit business
  • Company type (limited company, sole trader, C corporation etc.)
  • Company name
  • Company number (if a limited company)
  • Bank Account Information for Payouts

User Surveys

Sometimes, we may ask for your participation in user surveys. We may ask for your demographic information, including information related to your gender, ethnicity, race, age, sexual orientation, interests, occupation, earnings, and accessibility to better understand and serve our user base which you may elect to share or not. We collect such information to ensure we provide fair and equal access to our services and to showcase creators to StockScribers for greater discoverability. To the extent that you participate, we will store your survey responses.

Blogs

We may also collect and store your email address, your comments, and your profile information from our blog sites to better understand your interests and improve our services to you.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here:
https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Retention of Your Personal Data

Our data policy officer conducts data audit analyses every 6-12 months to keep our data retention policies and processes up-to-date, to ensure we are always improving the security of your data and our in-house processes.

We will not retain your personal data for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained, and unless we have agreed otherwise with you we will at the end of the retention period securely destroy or delete it from our records.

We retain your account information in accordance with our GDPR data policy. We keep different forms of data for different periods because of different reasons (incl. legal, communication reasoning). Some of your records may be deleted if your account is inactive for over 3 years (e.g. if you don’t open any emails for 3 years). We may continue to retain some information, even after you delete your account if we are required to do so in order to comply with various laws.

Your Rights in Respect of Personal Data

You have the right to access your own personal data by way of a subject access request. We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within one month unless the request is complex or numerous in which case the period in which we must respond can be extended by up to a further two months. You have the right to object to data processing where we are relying on a legitimate interest to do so and you think that your rights and interests outweigh our own and you wish us to stop such data processing.
You have the right to object if we process your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing.

You have the right to transfer your personal data to another data controller. We will not charge for this and will in most cases aim to do this within one month.
You have the right to be notified of a data security breach concerning your personal data.

In most situations, we will not rely on your consent as a lawful ground to process your data.
